week 5



 Today in class we learned about presentation of self, which is a person’s efforts to create specific impressions in the minds of others. It is a central focus of dramatically. Nonverbal communication consists of communication using body movements, gestures, and facial expressions rather than speech. Most of it is culture-specific and change as the culture changes. Paying close attention to nonverbal communication is often an effective way of telling whether or not someone is telling the truth. Body language can contradict verbal communication. Use of personal space the surrounding area over which an individual makes some claim to privacy. Staring, smiling, and touching are non verbals and can invade someones personal space. Paul Ekman reports that people everywhere express six basic emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, fear, disgust, and surprise. Culture plays an important role in guiding human emotions.
In the video it talks about how we get 55% of our information through non verbal communication like facial expressions, body movements and gestures. Some things that you need to look at are if they are closing their eyes, covering their mouth, chewing on something like a pencil or glasses, "presenting" their face. Which is making their face more aware. Crossed arms and fixing their posture or clothing are big indicators of being uncomfortable.

One positive thing I can do to benefit myself and society is to watch indicators of such as body movement to watch people

One thing society can do to positively benefit myself would be to never conform to other societies
One thing society can do to negatively benefit myself would be to take away the trees and create less oxygen for me to breath
